Fortunately, you will not come across a mushroom that is deadly poisonous in our forests. Almost all of them are edible in the sense that you cannot poison them. Only in its raw state is the rare and protected satanic mushroom highly poisonous, which even with insufficient heat treatment causes persistent and several-hour vomiting. However, it also becomes edible after 30 minutes of cooking. Some mushrooms are inedible due to their bitter flesh, for example porcini mushrooms or honey mushrooms. However, there are still plenty that are edible and taste great.

You can recognize this perhaps the most desirable mushroom by the fact that compressed pores or cut flesh flood. That is why it is also called the blue bird. The cap is maroon-brown to black-brown in color, the spine is firm, fibrous and yellowish. It grows quite abundantly from June to November in coniferous forests. It is an excellent edible mushroom, suitable for any kitchen preparation and drying.

He has a distinctive band on the brim and a mostly light brown hat. It grows from May to September under oak, beech and hazel. It is an excellent edible mushroom, suitable for the preparation of any fresh cuisine, for pickling in vinegar and for drying.

In adulthood, it has bald cap skin and a light mandible with an inconspicuous whitish web. It grows from June to November in spruce trees. It is one of the tastiest mushrooms, suitable for any type of cooking, fresh, pickled and, above all, dried.

It is characterized by a reddish-brown skin of the cap and stem, the whitish flesh does not change color when cut. It grows from May to November under pines and beeches, but not very abundantly. It is an excellent and versatile mushroom that can be used in the kitchen, whose delicious aroma fully emerges after drying.

You can recognize it by the red scales that cover the surface of the stem, the dark brown hat and the bluish-green flesh. It grows from May to November in coniferous and deciduous forests. It is tasty, but requires longer heat treatment. Thin slices of fennel can be dried well.

It has a straw-yellow cap, often cracked, and white, later yellowish tubes, which immediately turn blue when wrinkled. It grows from July to October in small groups in sandy forests, under pines or even under beech trees. It is a very tasty mushroom with a variety of uses in the kitchen.

A fleshy mushroom with a brown cap, lemon-yellow tubes, a cylindrical, spindle-shaped cone at the base and a stalk for roots. It grows from July to September mainly under oaks in forest clearings and on embankments. It is an excellent mushroom with a variety of uses in the kitchen, and it can also be dried.

It is characterized by velvety, frosted and uncracked hat skin, which can be black-brown, often with a purple tint. When young, the yellow stem soon turns brown-red. It grows from September to November, mainly in beech and oak forests. Small fruiting bodies of “velvet” pickled in sweet and sour cucumber are excellent.

Its specialty is the surface of the hat, which is velvety and black-brown when young, later gray-brown and usually cracked into fields. It grows quite abundantly from June to November in coniferous and deciduous forests. In the people it is called babka. Mlada is very tasty, suitable for any preparation in the kitchen, but also for pickling in vinegar.

Among the tastiest mushrooms are two more – bronze and royal. But both are protected by law, so if you come across one of them, you better enjoy looking at it and let it grow.
