Summer is slowly leaving and colorful autumn is replacing it. Come say goodbye to the warm days on a pilgrimage to Ruprechtice or Hejnice. However, if you have already got into the autumn mood, there is Pumpkin Harvest in Jablonec nad Niso.
The small but popular rock festival Liberec Rocks is held in the restaurant next to the Liberec dam on Fridays from 5 p.m. Scoffers, Tcheichan, Potomek, Remedy and Sixpack will perform. Come and support rock culture in Liberec. Entrance is 200 kroner, free for children under 12 years old.
Mírové náměstí in Jablonec nad Nisou is already hosting the 17th year of grape and pumpkin harvest. The traditional manifestation of the coming autumn with an attractive cultural program for the whole family takes place on Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. This year’s theme is Ghosts and Horror Creatures. In front of the Wine House, you will see a parade of hundreds of carved pumpkins from more than 35 elementary kindergartens and special schools from Jablonec and its surroundings. There will be a burčak, wine tasting and the possibility to buy and carve a pumpkin. There will also be fireworks at 7:30 p.m.
During the weekend, this year’s Ruprecht celebrations take place in the meadow near the U Obrázko church. On Saturday, you can expect a rich program on stage, a gigantic amusement park, sales at stands and refreshments, and spectacular fireworks. Jan Bendig, Kevin Rous, Tea and Woko will perform on stage. Star Wars, No limit, autodrome, train, flying elephants and much more await visitors from the attractions.
The middle of September once again brings the weekend Burger Street Festival in the shopping center Géčko in Liberec. A caravan of the most famous hamburgers, fries, ice cream and drinks will enrich the Saturday program of the Globus Liberec Hypermarket in the form of a bouncy castle, cooking class, face painting and tastings.
The traditional exhibition of mushrooms is organized by Ekoporadna Orsej, which operates in the Native Museum and Gallery in Český Lipa. It will be held in the museum premises from Friday to Sunday, and this year it will offer an interesting autumn experience. The program starts on Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the zone for kindergarten and elementary school students. Due to the limited capacity, it is necessary to order in advance. During the duration of the exhibition, there will also be an accompanying stand with mushroom-growing activities for children and adults. On Saturday, September 17, the organizers organized a mycological consultation. From 13:00 to 16:00, mycologist Martin Kříž will answer your questions and help you identify certain species. Entrance to the exhibition and accompanying program is free.
On Saturday, the city of Hejnice organizes Hejnické bábi leto, a traditional farewell to summer for children and adults. In front of the church, many fun competitions, music, refreshments and gifts will be prepared for the visitors.
