Preparing delicious snacks for guests may not always be the easiest task. Especially if you don’t want to sell them just sprinkled chips or well-known sandwiches. Try to prepare them the perfect chicken roll, which not only tastes perfect, but is ready in no time. It is usually served with a piece of fresh bread and is a great complement to a glass of chilled beer. But it will also reliably fulfill the role of a light dinner or snack.


When it comes to refreshments for guests at various celebrations and parties, many people immediately think of all kinds of sandwiches, canapés or even plated bowls. But it is precisely these types of delicacies that fulfill their purpose, but are of no particular interest to anyone. Many people then think about what they will impress their guests with and try to experiment during the preparations. One of the dishes that is slowly being forgotten, and which goes as a treat with beer or wine, is a chicken roll prepared in a PET bottle. This delicacy, which is very similar to the classic Tlachenka, but is also great for dinner or lunch.

Better than sympathy

Classic potbelly is considered by many to be one of the tastiest dishes you can get with a glass of chilled beer. However, its homemade preparation is not entirely simple and requires a lot of ingredients. However, their structure and taste are very similar to chicken roll, which even a less experienced cook can easily prepare. All you need is a handful of ingredients, a few minutes of time and one PET bottle.

you will need:

300 grams of chicken breast (pork leg can also be used)

100 grams of walnuts

30 grams of gelatin

2 cloves of garlic

1 cup of water



favorite spices to taste (eg marjoram, dried onion, ground cumin…)


First we will prepare the meat. Wash it, dry it with a paper towel and cut it into small cubes. Then put the meat in a heated pan and immediately reduce the heat to a minimum. Salt, pepper and sprinkle the meat with your favorite spices. Pour over a cup of water. When cooking, we do not use any fat, because the meat should be stewed only in water and its own juice. Mix the meat and cover the pan with a lid. Let it simmer for about 35 minutes, stirring occasionally. If a significant amount of water evaporates during stewing, the meat can be lightly browned.

When the meat is tender, remove it from the stove and let it cool. Meanwhile, prepare the gelatin according to the instructions on the package. Remove the meat from the pan, and mix the prepared gelatin in the pot with the broth. Return the meat to the mixture, add chopped walnuts and crushed garlic. Mix everything well.

We take a clean PET bottle and cut off the top so that it can be well filled with the prepared meat mixture. We then pour the mixture into a bottle, which we put in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours so that the roll hardens well. Finally, carefully open the whole bottle and take the roll out of it. Chicken roll is served with a piece of fresh bread or other favorite pastry.


Everyone can adjust the recipe to their own taste. Some like to add finely chopped onions to the meat, while others prefer sterilized vegetables like peas or corn. In short, there are no limits to imagination.
